That week where I hypnotised myself

Toby the yorkie

Over the past week I have been hypnotising myself with the power of YouTube. I had been playing ‘Relax My Dog’ for my yorkie Tobleton a.k.a Toby that popped up on Dougal’s Den. It’s a piece of music that plays for about six minutes and has special high frequency sounds that are meant to chill your dog out. It works every time. The first time I played it for him he just passed out asleep on me, he’s never been so heavy. He usually barks at everything and he’s quite paranoid of sounds and people so he’s always listening for the door and never really relaxing. The music kind of chills the owner out too so weird ol’ me thought ‘Hmmm, wonder if there’s something like this for humans’. I know about nature sounds and all that jazz and it’s what I listen to usually for sleepy times but I decided to see what YouTube had to offer.

I was a bit skeptical at first mainly because I start thinking that it was a bit dangerous and they could hypnotise you to do things or brainwash you. Or the video might just be a screamer and I fucking hate screamers.

The first one I came across was just a creepy man whispering in my ear and staring in to his webcam a bit too longingly. It was disturbing rather than relaxing. So I went with the video that had the most hits and that’s when I found Mrs.Julie langton Smith and her soothing, hypnotic, tones. I was surprised that it actually work and within minutes I was drowsy, tension packed up and left and I fell asleep. Not only did it give me a great night of sleep it also gave me a really vivid dream that I could fully remember the next morning and still remember now. It involved me, the Hollywood sign and a pretty stunning view. Julie has crawled in to bed with me every night since and the good sleeps keep coming.

No matter how much sleep I get on a Sunday I’m never awake on a Monday. I decided to stick on a rejuvenation hypnosis recording via YouTube again and went with the one with the most views, as you do. Right now I feel a little drunk and a little tired but definitely more awake then I was. My body completely sagged in to the chair and it was almost like being asleep but completely aware of everything and you can bring yourself out of it whenever you like, so they can’t go all Inception on you. The two people talking in the recording are a but off putting though, the woman more-so. She sounds like she’s trying to come on to you a bit. It’s still worth a shot and judging by the comments below, other people have found it useful too.

I thought I would share this little piece of info with you all and if anyone tries them out let me know if it works for you or you think it’s a load of crap!
